Wax

  • We use 100% natural soy wax that do not have any blends or paraffin. Paraffin is a type of wax that is used in many commercial pillar and jar candles as it is easy to use and provides an aesthetic finish. However, at decorie we decidded to sacrific a bit of this surface aesthetic to use paraffin free, all natural wax as literature has shown that burning paraffin wax releases toxic chemicals. So, the top surfaces of our soy wax candles may be a bit bumpy and may not be as shiny or flat as the other candles you are used to using, but this is just proof that we are truly using natural soy wax that aren't mixed with any blends or paraffin. 

Packaging

  • We know environmental sustainability is a key concern so we have consciously tried to find ways to package and deliver to you with as minimal carbon footprint as possible. We use tissue paper to wrap the lids and jars, which can be recycled or reused. As our lids are made out of zinc alloy and have some weight to it, we re-use the bubble wrap that they come in from our supplier so as not to waste it by throwing it away after being delivered to us. As much as we wanted to develop a more intricate packaging and unwrapping experience for our customers, we were also conscious of the fact that more materials means more littering and rubbish in our landfills. So, at decorie, we have tried to use minimal materials in our packaging with the sole intention of reducing unnecessary waste and pressure on our environment.

Wicks

  • At decorie, we are committed to delivering quality produts at affordable prices. As a candle loving team, we've rarely come across brands that offer double cotton, let alone double wood wick candles at a reasonable price. Determined to change this scene, we place double wicks in our 250g candles at less than $40, which is particularly amazing for our wood wick loving fam. We use double wicks to further ensure that our candles burn evenly and that you have an amazing, quality made candle experience.

Jar bottom

  • If you look at the bottom of your jars, you’ll find two transparent adhesives that are placed there with the purpose of holding the jar stable when you use our lid as a base. But remember to take off the sticker cover because we leave the sticker cover on when we deliver these to you to ensure that they are left in top notch condition for you to use! The photo above also shows what we meant by some peeled marks being shown on our internal glass jars that have paint on the outside. These small marks do not affect the burning experience of the candle but we want to be transparent with you that some bottoms may be this way due to the way they were made and delivered to us.

Jars

  • We offer choice in our products and allow customers to choose from two types of jars - external glass jar or internal glass jar. The external glass jars have more shine and glare to the exterior while our internal glass jars have a more matte feel to it as it is painted on the outside. If you look at the image above, the jar to the left is our external glass jar while the jar to the right is our internal glass jar. Our internal glass jars with external paint may have peeled marks due to the way they were delivered to us. We do our best to remove these jars from our official stock but at times there may be peeled spots on the bottom. We want to be transparent with you about our products and have placed a photo to show you what this might look like in the ‘jar bottom’ section of this page.

Candle Care

  • How to look after your candle:

    • trim your wick to approximately 4-5mm before burning each time so as to avoid having charred wicks

    • try to avoid tunnelling by allowing the wax to melt to the internal edges of the jar the first time you burn it

    • our candles all have two wicks so ensure that both are lit at the same time to have a more even burn

    • ensure there are no flammable items near the candle while it’s burning

    • avoid having the candle lit for more than 3 hours at any one time

Fragrance

  • At decorie, we believe that smells can trigger or help create invaluable memories in our life. With this in mind, we are launching five key fragrances that are a mix of various notes, and range from sweet to musky. We've named our candles based on the name of the fragrances in our supply, to showcase the unique smell of our products with a unique label and name. We obtain our fragrances from Aussie suppliers meaning that every candle you purchase is supporting local, Aussie businesses and their employees.

Lids

  • You'll often find wooden or plastic candle jar lids that look like metal but have no weight or quality to them. At decorie, we have decided to really let quality speak for itself by using zinc alloy lids of two different colours, which our customers can choose from in their order. You could even use them as a base of our candle jars!
